Health Survey (Human health risk Assessments)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Solid Waste (OSW) published a Health Risk Assessment Protocol For Burning of Hazardous Waste Facilities". The protocol named HHRAP (Human Health Risk Assessment Protocol) 2005, set clear methodology for health risk assessment that was adopted by the EPA and more recently by Israel's Ministry of Environmental Protection (mainly for complex projects). A computer program based on the health risk assessment protocol and an interface based on two mathematical models IRAP-h is used in our office to evaluate the health risk of proposed projects.
So far, we prepared two health surveys using the IRAP-h model, one for the Haifa Refinery area and the second for the operation of a new dry line at Nesher's cement Plant in Har-Tuv (now under review by authorities). Haifa refinery project was reviewed by the Ministry of the Environment and by an outside group abroad (a specialized British company called Atkniss"). The survey review was complimented for its quality, editing and findings.
